Lunch Dates

Today, for the Weekly Photo Challenge we are given LUNCHTIME. Generally speaking, I don’t take pictures of food just to take pictures of food, though I do get good recipes sometimes by checking out other people’s food blogs. 🙂

I do occasionally take pics involving mealtime for other reasons though. Nothing like the grin I see when they bring my Empress food when inpatient for the first time in just shy of 3 full days. Or to know that if she eats and can keep it down after a procedure of some sort, she gets to go home. Or realizing the salad bar in the hospital cafeteria is actually, bizarrely enough, something she considers a big treat… and I remember how much I loved salad bars at restaurants when I was a kid.

In checking out what I had in my recent archives, I realized something else. I cannot find a single picture where we are consuming a meal outside of this home without it involving a trip to a medical establishment. The reason for this, of course, would be because I can only recall it happening maybe once a year in recent history. I have to be sure to commemorate the next time it happens in photos. This is not said facetiously.
